Students still have time to sign up for a number of late-start classes offered by departments across Metropolitan State University of Denver. If you know students who couldn’t get into core or foundational classes such as Business Analytics, Water Law or Urban Sociology — or are looking to accelerate degree attainment — encourage them to explore these fantastic midsemester courses.
Late-start classes can be particularly valuable for students with challenging schedules, including nontraditional students who don’t have the flexibility or availability to complete a full 16-week course. Late-start courses such as Career Planning, Communication Ethics, Acting Like a Teacher and Stress Management are also helpful for students looking to quickly enhance or increase their skill sets, said Thad Spaulding, interim associate vice president of Enrollment Management.
“Late-start courses also provide options for students who are lifelong learners looking for continuing-education possibilities, as well as individuals who are seeking career and professional-development opportunities,” he added.
Faculty and staff can help promote late-start classes by sharing the Late-Starting search option with students. Visit the fall 2019 course-schedule page to learn more.
