Meet the second candidate for VP for diversity and inclusion

Dennis Rudnick will visit campus Wednesday to meet with faculty, staff and students.

Dennis Rudnick, Ph.D., a candidate for vice president of diversity and inclusion, will visit Metropolitan State University of Denver on Wednesday.

Rudnick has served as associate director of multicultural education and research for Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis since 2015. There, he has developed the Culturally Responsive Teaching Learning Community and Multicultural Leadership Empowerment Program — as well as training and learning opportunities for more than 10,000 students, faculty and staff. Concurrently, he is an associate faculty member within the university’s School of Education and also serves as a diversity, equity and inclusion consultant.

Rudnick received a Master of Education and doctorate in curriculum and instruction and multicultural education from the University of Washington, Seattle. Prior to that, he earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Mary Washington. He is a member of the Critical Race Studies in Education Association and co-directs the White Racial Literacy Project.

Rudnick will meet with various University groups throughout the day, and faculty, staff and students are strongly encouraged to attend their respective open forums during each candidate’s visit:

10-11 a.m., SSB 440A – staff

2-3 p.m., SSB 237 (CMEI) – faculty and students

4-5 p.m., SSB 440A – community members
