On June 28, members of the Auraria Campus community are invited to help mark the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots. The riots, which originated at New York City’s Stonewall Inn, galvanized the LGBTQ community to resist police raids on gay establishments and helped spur a wave of modern LGBTQ political activism.
The tri-institutional LGBTQ Student Resource Center invites all Roadrunners, CityHawks and Lynx — as well as allies and friends — to a barbecue commemorating this important event. This June 28, join fellow students, staff and faculty members for art, games, music and guest speakers on the Tivoli Quad from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Attendees can RSVP online and email Steve Willich, director of the LGBTQ Student Resource Center, for more information.
