MSU Denver Athletics relay team places 2nd at 2019 Colfax Marathon

Running With Us pays off for Student Emergency Aid Fund.

Congratulations to the Metropolitan State University of Denver Athletics relay team! Kristin Barnett, assistant athletic trainer; Trent Mack, head cross-country coach and assistant track coach; Josh Graetz ’18, head coach, men’s and women’s tennis; Brandon Krage ’18, volunteer assistant cross-country coach; and Kendra Mack placed second in the Colfax Marathon Coed Government Relay Division, completing the race in two hours, 54 minutes and 10 seconds.

During marathon weekend, May 18-19, the MSU Denver Athletics relay team joined more than 20,000 runners and volunteers to support local nonprofits by participating in the ultimate urban tour of Denver. The relay team’s award, combined with the efforts of 25 people running on behalf of MSU Denver, raised a total of $2,440 for the Student Emergency Aid Fund. Those funds will directly support students dealing with unanticipated life events and allow them to remain focused on their academic goals.

An additional 45 MSU Denver volunteers joined our runners on the streets of Denver to staff the Charity Partner Tent, Water Station and Adopt-A-Block.
