Seeking faculty feedback

The Academic Excellence and Student Success Advisory Council needs your retention input and ideas.

The President’s Advisory Council on Academic Excellence and Student Success relaunched this semester with a focus on retention. The Council’s work is complementary to other retention-related efforts on campus, including the work of the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan Committee.

Recognizing the crucial role faculty can play in student retention, the Council is working to get a better understanding of faculty’s knowledge about retention and their perspectives about their roles in this issue. To achieve this aim, all faculty have been invited to complete a brief survey about retention.

The survey link was sent to all faculty email addresses Thursday. Results of the three-minute survey will be available in the fall and will inform recommendations for University strategies to increase student retention.

In the fall, the Council also will invite faculty to participate in focus groups about this issue to gather more in-depth information about faculty’s ideas about retention.
