MSU Denver improves wayfinding, accessibility and safety across University-owned facilities.

Spanning 150 acres, the Auraria Campus is big. It feels even bigger, however, to first-time visitors and new students and employees. With three institutions, roughly 42,000 students and more than 5,000 employees, it’s easy to get turned around.
To improve wayfinding — and to make our Metropolitan State University of Denver-owned facilities safer and more accessible — all MSU Denver building main entrances recently received new vinyl identifying signage.
Clearly outlining the name and address of the building, along with MSU Denver branding, these simple signs are a great way to help new Roadrunners and guests feel more comfortable and welcome on campus. The signage will also enhance MSU Denver’s self-guided tour and potentially decrease confusion and response time for emergency professionals, improving safety for all.
In addition to entrance signage, the Center for Equity and Student Achievement, the Center for Multicultural Excellence and Inclusion and several other spaces within the JSSB also received new identifying signage. Signs that were previously matte aluminum were swapped out for MSU Denver blue versions to provide greater contrast and visibility for accessibility purposes. Next up, the Seventh Street Classroom building, which houses the MSU Denver aviation program, will receive a new sign and University logo.
The MSU Denver Strategy, Marketing and Communications Branch spearheaded the signage project in collaboration with MSU Denver Facilities Planning, AHEC, Roadways, CESA and CMEI staff. Thank you to all who made it a success.
