Students participating in TRIO High School Upward Bound programAttention, faculty – are you looking for a rewarding way to spend summer break? Why not make a difference in the lives of Denver youth by teaching a summer course?

A TRIO High School Upward Bound course will be held on the Metropolitan State University of Denver campus two days per week from June 10 to July 19, and Center for Urban Education College Readiness Camp classes will take place four times per week June 10-28. These college-prep programs are designed to support under-resourced and first-generation college-bound high school students. The goal is to help students build the skills and motivation necessary to complete high school and to enter and succeed in their postsecondary education.

Instructors will be paid $40 per hour, up to $4,000 (depending on camp) including allotted time for program development and lesson planning.

The application deadline is May 10. To apply or for more information, please contact Carla Mirabelli, director of the Center for Urban Education and TRIO Upward Bound, at cmirabe1@msudenver.edu or 303-615-1095.
