Are you itching to get involved in faculty leadership? Do you know a fantastic faculty member whose voice should be heard? We need you to nominate faculty members for the following Faculty Senate positions:
- The faculty representative to the MSU Denver Board of Trustees is a nonvoting member of the BOT. The representative is expected to attend all BOT meetings and retreats, participate in those meetings and ensure that the voice of the faculty is heard on issues before the Board.
- The Colorado Faculty Advisory Council representativesentative represents Metropolitan State University of Denver in the Advisory Council to the Colorado Commission on Higher Education. CFAC is an advisory council made up of representatives from each college or university supported by state funding in Colorado. MSU Denver’s representative is expected to attend all CFAC meetings (which are held at the various campuses around the state), solicit faculty input on issues affecting higher education in Colorado and report CFAC actions to the Faculty Senate.
- Three at-large senators are elected from full-time faculty and serve two-year terms. At-large representatives attend the Faculty Senate meetings and have voting rights the same as all departmental senators.
Please follow the links above to nominate yourself or a colleague. Nominations are due to the Faculty Senate office by Wednesday and should be submitted to Maggie Thulson at memerso9@msudenver.edu or in SSB 330. When the nomination period has ended, the Senate will conduct an all-faculty election.
If you have any questions about these positions or the election process, please contact Sen. Peter Vigil, chair of the Instructional Resource Committee, at pvigil7@msudenver.edu.
