Join the Denver Project for Humanistic Inquiry for an abridged performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” followed by a conversation with the cast and director as well as local scholars. Hosted in conjunction with the Denver Mug Club, the event is free and open to the public.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night performance of “Machinal”

7:30 p.m., MSU Denver Studio Theatre, King Center

“Machinal” is a 1928 expressionist play by Sophie Treadwell that was inspired by the real-life case of convicted murderer Ruth Snyder. The story follows a young working-class woman who begrudgingly adheres to societal expectations of women. Her story leads from a bad marriage to motherhood to infidelity and ultimately to the electric chair. 8^th Annual Undergraduate Research Conference: A Symposium of Scholarly Works and Creative Projects

8 a.m. to 5 p.m., North Classroom Building

The 8^th Annual Undergraduate Research Conference: A Symposium of Scholarly Works and Creative Projects celebrates and highlights student and faculty research. Members of the MSU Denver community are invited to check out presentations such as “The Madness Within the Monster: Representations of Mental Illness in Horror,” “Oxygen Protection is Crucial for Optimal Yeast Recovery and Reculturing From Bottled Beer” and many more.

Carol Cleland, Ph.D., professor and director of the Center for the Study of Origins at the University of Colorado Boulder, will deliver a keynote on “The Quest to Find Extraterrestrial Life.”

All faculty and staff are encouraged to stop by and support students. Registering as a guest is recommended but not required, unless you plan to attend the luncheon and keynote.

Technology Donation Drive

11 a.m.-4 p.m., outside the Tivoli Turnhalle

Puksta Scholar and Computer Information Systems student Jenn Cassidy is spearheading a technology donation drive for an excellent cause. Roadrunners are invited to bring used or broken desktop computers, laptops, tablets or cellphones to Cassidy, who will personally refurbish and donate them to domestic-abuse shelters in Colorado. These efforts support Cassidy’s larger goal of using her education to teach computer skills to domestic-abuse survivors, enhancing their abilities to find successful, sustainable careers.

BFA Thesis Exhibition

Center for Visual Art

Roadrunners and community members are invited to attend the BFA Thesis Exhibition, a culmination of MSU Denver studio-art and communication-design students’ education as artists and designers. Graduating students will show their work across two exhibitions. Show No. 1 will be on view through April 19, and Show No. 2 will be on view April 26-May 10, with an opening reception April 26 from 6-8 p.m. Students embrace this opportunity to express their conceptual, aesthetic and philosophic ideation through a cohesive body of work.
