In honor of Money Smart Week, Metropolitan State University of Denver’s $AFE Program is hosting Money Mindset to help students, faculty and staff develop strategies for making healthy financial choices. No matter your income level or personal-finance question, Money Mindset can help.
“People generally don’t like to talk about money, but knowledge is power,” said Haley Kline, initiatives manager for the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. “Having the information and understanding to make good financial choices and developing strong money strategies can help students and employees alike.”
The April 4 event features Shawn Young, founder and CEO of the Financial Health Institute. Young has devoted more than a decade to creating and delivering educational programs, seminars and workshops focused on life-skill development, specifically targeted at helping people make changes to their financial and health behaviors — recognizing that for many people, money concerns are linked to stress and health.
Student attendees will be entered to win one of two $250 scholarships to be applied to the spring 2019 semester, and faculty and staff are welcome to attend for financial strategies and tips. Pizza will also be provided.
