Roadrunners Give Back Day set for April 11

Roadrunners Give Back Day, Metropolitan State University of Denver’s annual day of volunteerism, allows faculty and staff to make a lasting difference in the lives of students and community members. By participating in volunteer projects across the metro area April 11, MSU Denver employees can address hunger, early-childhood education, school and neighborhood refurbishment, and more — all while expanding their community networks and showing Denver what it means to be a Roadrunner.

Volunteer opportunities are available at a wide range of organizations. Faculty and staff can get their hands dirty making our environment cleaner and greener with the Park People Tree Champion Program, distribute nutritious food through Food Bank of the Rockies, ensure that new babies and their families are prepared to thrive with the Denver Health Newborns in Need project, and much more. Please note that MSU Denver faculty and staff will be given four hours of release time to participate in Roadrunners Give Back Day and are encouraged to volunteer together to team-build outside the office. For faculty and staff using release time, complete the leave-request form, obtain supervisor approval and email forms to Kristen Wall, HR associate – benefits, kwall7@msudenver.edu. When completing a monthly timesheet, employees should use leave code “V” for volunteer.

Snacks and T-shirts will be provided for all participants. Morning and afternoon shifts are available. Register and find more information at msudenver.edu/rgbd2019.
