Appreciate original art
Gravity of Perception, featuring lens-based work by artists reflecting on the past by reclaiming and re-contextualizing visual archives, opens Friday at the Center for Visual Arts. The show features a number of pieces that “confront themes of oppression and institutionalized discrimination, offering moments for reflection and space to envision a future where equality thrives,” according to the event website, from artists such as Tya Anthony, Lorenzo Triburgo and Zora Murff.
Get a first look at Gravity of Perception from 6-8 p.m. at the CVA, 965 Santa Fe Drive. The opening reception is free and open to all. For more details, contact Heather Link-Bergman, CVA communications manager.
