Faculty and staff to receive mobile emergency alerts automatically
Update your phone number in Banner to ensure that you receive Rave notifications.
January 29, 2019
Beginning this semester, Metropolitan State University of Denver faculty and staff will receive emergency alerts from the Rave Mobile Safety system on their cellphones without having to opt in. All institutions on the Auraria Campus are part of this system, which also sends out alerts for a campus closure because of inclement weather.
Previously, employees received email alerts automatically but needed to sign up individually on the Rave website to receive mobile alerts. In an effort to ensure that messaging is available to all members of the campus community, MSU Denver will now upload all employee mobile numbers from Banner to the Rave system.
To make sure your mobile number is up to date in Banner before it’s added to Rave, follow these steps:
1. Visit IT Services’ Rave Alerts webpage.
2. Sign in with your MSU Denver NetID and password.
3. Click Personal Information Menu.
4. Click View Address(es) and Phone(s).
5. Under Phones, Click Primary.
6. Enter or update your number under Primary Phone Number for This Address.
You can add additional phone numbers or email addresses to your profile in Rave by visiting MSU Denver’s Rave alert page and signing in with your MSU Denver NetID and password.
You can also opt out of mobile alerts on that page; to opt out, sign in and then click the red X next to your phone number. Since cellphone numbers will be added to Rave each semester, you will need to opt out each semester after the Census Day.
