Janine Davidson, Meranda VieyraCongratulations are in order for Metropolitan State University of Denver President Janine Davidson, Ph.D., and alumna Meranda Vieyra, 2010 graduate and owner of Denver Legal Marketing LLC. The two were recently named to the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce 2019 Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Business list.

Since the Chamber’s first Top 25 awards were announced seven years ago, the organization has celebrated the professional achievements and contributions of 175 Colorado women “who operate at the highest level of business performance and community leadership,” according to the event website.

“It’s an honor to be included among such an accomplished and impactful group of leaders — and it’s especially exciting to see MSU Denver graduates like Meranda Vieyra making their mark,” Davidson said. “This recognition also reinforces my commitment to inclusive leadership and the idea that powerful leaders are those that value transparency, collaboration and inviting diverse voices to the table.”

Selected by a committee that includes past honorees, Davidson was recognized for her innovative leadership of MSU Denver and Vieyra for her entrepreneurial spirit and marketing service to the Denver legal community. This year’s list also includes notable Colorado women such as University of Colorado Board of Regents member Heidi Ganahl, Denver Health and Hospital Authority Chief Financial Officer Peg Burnette, Denver Public Schools Foundation President and CEO Veronica Figoli and Denver Scholarship Foundation CEO Lorii Rabinowitz. Members of the MSU Denver community are invited to celebrate with Davidson, Vieyra and other honorees at the Top 25 Most Powerful Women Gala on Jan. 30 at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton City Center at 1701 California St. in Denver.
