Free pair of gloves when you join your fellow Roadrunners at the annual MLK Marade.

A longstanding tradition, the 33rd annual Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Marade on Monday is a show of commitment to Denver communities, said Amber Mozet, coordinator of the Center for Equity and Student Achievement and special projects at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
“It isn’t just black people that Dr. King was fighting for,” she said. “He fought for all oppressed people to have rights because he knew that we can only succeed when we all succeed.”
The University has participated in the Marade for years and is one of several opportunities to honor King’s legacy; tickets are still available for the signature MLK Peace Breakfast on Friday.
“We are Denver; we reflect that community,” Mozet said. “We stand for equity, inclusion and social justice here, and we put our words into action.”
The Marade begins Monday at the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. I Have a Dream Memorial in City Park with a program at 9:30 a.m.; the Marade steps off at 10:45 a.m. The route takes participants west down Colfax Avenue to Civic Center and is rain or shine.
