Spots are going fast for the Teaching Effectiveness Institute

The Center for Teaching, Learning and Design event helps faculty kick off a new year with new skills – so don't miss out.

Each semester, the Teaching Effectiveness Institute offers Metropolitan State University of Denver faculty a chance to reinvigorate their teaching practices. The half-day event takes place the week before classes start and features discussions with skilled experts from within our own University community.

“I’m often struck by the depth and range of excellent teaching that takes place here,” said Jeff Loats, director of the Center for Teaching, Learning and Design. “I always note how much good teaching is applicable across disciplines.”

The Jan. 17 event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Central 103 and will feature sessions from Annie Butler, chair, Human Services & Counseling; Barbara EchoHawk, associate professor, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences; and Loats.

The institute begins with a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by interactive sessions with lots of time for discussion and building connections among faculty.
