Second annual celebration for first-generation students

On Nov. 8, recognize the 49.1 percent of Roadrunners who identify as the first person in their family to go to college.

With nearly half of Roadrunners identifying as the first person in their family to attend college, odds are you have worked with a first-gen student. On Nov. 8, TRIO Student Support Services and First-Gen Initiatives are hosting a celebration in honor of National First Generation College Student Day.

11 a.m.-2 p.m.

JSSB Second Floor Mezzanine

Faculty and staff are welcome to stop by and are encouraged to help spread the word among students. The informal drop-in event will include cake, “I’m First-Gen Too” T-shirts for students, a photo booth and campus resources.

If you can’t make it to the event but still want to support the initiative, you can wear your “I’m First-Gen Too” T-shirt on Nov. 8 or post this flyer in your office or Blackboard shell prior to the event.
