Final candidates announced for dean of School of Hospitality, Events and Tourism
Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend open forums to meet Fred DeMicco, Christian Hardigree and Peter Karpinski.

Fred DeMicco, Christian Hardigree and Peter Karpinski, candidates for dean of the School of Hospitality, Events and Tourism, will visit Metropolitan State University of Denver this week to participate in open forums and Q&A sessions with faculty, staff and students.
Christian Hardigree
Christian Hardigree, J.D., is the director of the Michael A. Leven School of Culinary Sustainability and Hospitality at Kennesaw State University, with a joint appointment in the Michael Coles College of Business, Department of Management & Entrepreneurship. She earned a bachelor’s degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a juris doctorate with a specialization in employment law and labor management from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law. Hardigree has also served as an associate professor and department chair at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Department of Hotel Management.
All are invited to Hardigree’s open session in the Jordan Student Success Building, Room 350A, on Wednesday from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Peter Karpinski
Peter Karpinski is a partner, officer and executive-committee member at Sage Hospitality Resources as well as the co-founder and chief operating officer of Sage Restaurant Group. Karpinski attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point before earning a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Administration from Cornell University. Karpinski is pursuing an Executive Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. He is also a co-founder of Arrive Enterprises LLC.
All are invited to Karpinski’s open session in the Hospitality Learning Center, Room 208, on Thursday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Fred DeMicco
Fred DeMicco, Ph.D., R.D., MS.PH, FMP, CGSP, is the Aramark Endowed Chair Emeritus at the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management at the University of Delaware. He completed his Ph.D. in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Formerly, he was associate director in the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Recreation Management at Penn State University, and he currently is a Conti Distinguished Professor at Penn State’s School of Hotel, Restaurant and Recreation Management.
All are invited to DeMicco’s open session in the Hospitality Learning Center, Room 208, Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
