Catch up on University policy

See updates from the latest President’s Advisory Council on University Policy meeting.

Thank you to all who were able to attend the Oct. 16 meeting of the President's Advisory Council on University Policy.

The Council received positive feedback on the Board of Trustees policies and recommendations previously presented to the President’s Cabinet on Oct. 10. The Council of Chairs and Directors requested some minor edits to definitions and procedures in relation to the revised Policy and Procedure Enactment policy and new Academic Policy.

As a reminder, about 25 Board-level policies with technical or legal changes are available for University community review through Nov. 14. The most recent drafts of the revisions are available on the Council’s SharePoint site under Documents >> Policies for Review. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to review the revisions and submit feedback using the online form available on the policy homepage at msudenver.edu/policy.

The Council also discussed more substantive revisions to the Academic Freedom Policy (also available for University community review through Nov. 14) and a proposed Reporting of Discrimination and Harassment Policy that is still under development.

The next meeting of the Council is Nov. 27 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Jordan Student Success Building 440A. The Council will discuss the recommendations from the University community review of the proposed Board policy revisions at that meeting.
