The MSU Denver faculty brain trust reaches almost every corner of the academic spectrum, and we are always proud to see Roadrunners sharing their knowledge. Each month, the Early Bird highlights a few faculty members who have served as subject-matter experts on timely news topics – providing dynamic perspectives on critical issues.

Here’s a sampling from September:

Whitney Traylor, associate professor of management, was interviewed by 9News about the confirmation process of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Andrea Borrego, assistant professor of criminal justice and criminology, was interviewed by Fox31 about the rise in violent crime in Denver and Colorado, according to new statistics from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

Helene Ver Eecke, associate professor of biology, spoke with Denver7 “The Now” about the potential microbial dangers associated with filtered water dispensers on home refrigerators.

Alex Padilla, associate professor of economics, talked with CGTN America about how select retailers are discounting appliances ahead of new tariffs being implemented.

Kip Wotkyns, associate professor of journalism, shared his perspective with Denver7 about the New York Times’ decision to publish an anonymous editorial critical of President Trump.
