rowdyAt the end of this article, you’ll see two new Early Bird features: a field for commenting and a poll providing real-time results.

As the Early Bird is a venue for celebrating the University and its people, programs and achievements, we encourage you to take advantage of these new functions. Share your perspectives on stories, contribute additional info or just chime in to support the content or offer constructive criticism.

Comments will be approved by a moderator, and the same community guidelines developed for Metropolitan State University of Denver’s social-media channels will apply. That said, here are some general tips to keep the Early Bird a civil and welcoming place for all.

  1. Please be respectful of your colleagues, and avoid using profane language, personal attacks, threats, name-calling, bullying, taunting, baiting, etc.
  2. Spam content — including posts that are irrelevant to the conversation, repetitive or trying to sell a product, person, company or experience — won’t fly in the Early Bird.
  3. Personal privacy is paramount, so posts that include a person’s private email, phone number or address or an inappropriate photo of them without their permission will not be approved.

If you have questions or suggestions about these new features, please contact earlybirdeditor@msudenver.edu.

What are your thoughts on the new commenting and polling features?

  1. It’s about time! I’ll be chiming in regularly.
  2. I will comment and participate in polls from time to time.
  3. I’ll read comments and poll results but won’t join the conversation.
  4. I’m not interested in either function.
