You’re a recruiter – and you don’t even know it

Along with the buzz on campus, recruiters are busy sharing the value of a Metropolitan State University of Denver education. And though that happens formally with members of the Office of Admissions, it also relies on a key person often overlooked in the process: you.
“Whether we know it or not, we all carry the MSU Denver message with us whenever we’re out in the community,” said Morgan Raleigh, director of recruitment. “We’re always looking for ways to keep up, build and expand those relationships so vital to bringing new Roadrunners to MSU Denver.”
With a University population of around 20,000, individual connection – to programs, offices and faculty members – is vital to ensure that each student is set up to succeed before they even set foot into a classroom, as they and their family/friends may interact with a variety of people leading up to classes’ kickoff.
Building those relationships starts early. And Raleigh describes Admissions as a central node for consultancy in that process, offering resources such as contact cards, online interest forms, print materials and key messaging to empower campus partner.
Another opportunity to showcase your program is the Nov. 3 Open House, the largest recruitment event of the year.
“By connecting with us in Admissions, we can can leverage those previously existing relationships with school counselors and teachers and others to spread your message to as many students as possible,” Raleigh said. “We’re all part of that recruitment pipeline – and sometimes we don’t even know it.”
