Honor fallen firefighters Sept. 11
Roadrunners are invited to join President Davidson for the 2018 Colorado 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.
August 28, 2018
Metropolitan State University of Denver faculty, staff and students are invited to join President Janine Davidson, Ph.D., in remembering fallen firefighters by participating in the 2018 Colorado 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.
The event will take place Sept. 11 at 8:45 a.m. at Red Rocks Amphitheater to honor the 343 firefighters who lost their lives attempting to save others during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Participants will pay tribute to firefighters by climbing the equivalent of 110 stories of the former World Trade Center in New York. The proceeds of the event will help the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation create and maintain programs that support fire-service survivors.
MSU Denver faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate alongside Davidson as part of the University’s team. Registration is $35 per person, and faculty and staff can also choose to sponsor a student and climb together. Please go online to register yourself and your student on Team MSU Denver.
Participants are encouraged to register before Sept. 4. Please contact Emalie Whan-Traylor after registering for more logistics information.
