Hands of nursing studentIf you enjoy taking time out of your workday to kick back, sip juice, eat cookies and save lives, then donating blood is for you.

The first Auraria Campus Blood Drive of the semester, sponsored by the Office of Student Activities, runs Aug. 28-30, and faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members are encouraged to donate. All donations support the Bonfils Blood Center. The campus’ more than 30-year relationship with the organization has netted more than 16,000 units of blood, which have affected nearly 49,000 recipients.

Regardless of your schedule, donating is easy. Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments can be scheduled. The Bonfils Blood Center website answers many general questions about blood donation, and questions about the Auraria Campus Blood Drive in particular can be directed to Diana Ibarra.

Date: Tuesday, Aug. 28-Thursday, Aug. 30

Times: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Location: St. Cajetan’s Event Center
