There are plenty of reasons to attend Convocation on Aug. 16. Not only will the evening include food, fun and a dunk tank, but it also offers incoming students their first real glimpse of what it means to be a Roadrunner.
Inviting students and families to celebrate the beginning of a new academic year is a time-honored tradition, and faculty and staff participation is vital to helping students and families feel welcomed and to ensuring student success.
In addition to games, activities and nosh, the evening will feature remarks from President Janine Davidson, Ph.D., and MSU Denver alum Travis Luther, a successful local entrepreneur, followed by a rousing rendition of the Roadrunner fight song led by Provost Vicki Golich, Ph.D., and other university leaders.
All faculty and staff are encouraged to attend with their families, and faculty members specifically are reminded to attend the faculty mixer prior to the Convocation festivities. The mixer will offer faculty members a chance to share a drink and catch up with colleagues before taking part in the larger celebration.
