Mark your calendars now: The week of Labor Day this September is going to be a celebration of all things Metropolitan State University of Denver with the Presidential Inauguration of Janine Davidson, Ph.D.
Festivities such as a parade, a communitywide barbecue and an investiture ceremony followed by a gala Sept. 7 will mark Davidson’s first year at the helm of the University.
In addition to giving her the platform to describe the course she has set for the road ahead, it’s also another way to spread MSU Denver’s vision to local, state and national audiences.
“Universities view the inauguration as an opportunity to welcome a new era and celebrate as a community,” said Tiffany Snell, university events and protocol manager.
Snell is part of a cross-campus committee chaired by Vice President of Strategy/Chief of Staff Cathy Lucas to plan a slate of activities for the occasion. Other committee members include Marti Awad, Ferd Belz, Erin Brogan, Annie Butler, Paul Camp, Rebecca Canges, Leone Dick, Patty Gage, Lacey Hyde, Brenden Kendall, John Kietzmann, Steve Krizman, Angela LeValley, Traci McBee Rowe, George Middlemist, Robert Park, Cindy Parsons, Blair Quiring, Robin Sadler, Scott Surine, Marilee Utter, Cynthia Vannucci and Charlie Walling.
Keep an eye out for the Inauguration website (coming soon) and regular communication from MSU Denver leading up to the commemoration.
