Realignment, director search ahead for EO Office

The Equal Opportunity Office will report to general counsel after the hiring of a new director this summer.

The search for a new director of the Equal Opportunity Office will be relaunched this summer with a new reporting structure ahead for the department. The new EO director will report to general counsel rather than the Office of the President, a decision by Metropolitan State University of Denver President Janine Davidson, Ph.D. informed by feedback received from her listening tour and campus climate survey data, to reinforce the strategic independence of the EO Office.

The University will hire a firm to conduct the search this summer. Cynthia Hier, who has been serving as interim director of the Office of Equal Opportunity/Title IX Coordinator since early in the spring semester, will continue to lead the department until a director is hired.
