Tara Tull, Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Human ServicesMetropolitan State University of Denver will be down one trailblazing educator when Tara Tull retires as an associate professor in the Department of Human Services and Counseling at semester’s end after 28 years of service to the University.

“Tara has always been so passionate; she’s such a believer in MSU Denver and our students,” said Annie Butler, associate professor and chair of the DHSC. “And she’s someone you can always turn to as a colleague.”

Tull was chair of the DHSC for six of her 10 years in the department and co-wrote the proposal to create what’s now known as the LGBTQ Student Resource Center on campus, which is celebrating its 25th year.

Additionally, she was associate director of what was then called Women’s Studies for 14 years, served as an assistant dean of the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and helped create the Scholarship Center.

“She has such a dynamic spirit and great energy,” Butler said. “We’re really going to miss her.”

Join colleagues to celebrate Tull’s retirement with cake and coffee April 23 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Tivoli 640. Please RSVP to Jessica Arnfelt.
