Roadrunner paintingA few students are hoping the MSU Denver community shows them some love this Valentine’s Day.

Twelve students are raising money to travel to the San Luis Valley for an alternative spring break trip, where they’ll volunteer with local nonprofit La Puente.

To help them meet their goal, the students are selling Valentine’s Day cards through Feb. 14 for $1.75 each or $8.95 for a five-pack.

“I’m organizing this whole trip to give students an opportunity to see a new part of Colorado,” said Jasmine Villalobos, a junior business management major from Denver. “In addition to that, students can volunteer with La Puente and help out with social issues that surround the people of the San Luis Valley.”

Villalobos and the rest of the students are all part of the Denver Scholarship Foundation Leadership Program and the Reisher Scholars Program.

Purchase cards at the Student Support and Retention Desk, SSB 230, or donate directly to Laruen Koppel at lkoppel@msudenver.edu.
