Awards, national journals and a ranking for low student loan debt.

Cathy Lucas, MSU Denver’s vice president of strategy and chief of staff, published an article in a respected national journal devoted to higher education marketing and communications earlier this month. Lucas’ article, “Learnings (and Mistakes) that Have Shaped My Communications Career in Higher Education,” appeared in the Higher Ed Marketing Journal Jan. 12. In it, Lucas presents six lessons she has learned during a nearly 20-year career in higher education marketing and communications.

MSU Denver was recognized by The Student Loan Report for low student debt per graduate. The report, called “Student Loan Debt Per Graduate,” looked at colleges and universities across the nation. The University ranked 198th among public schools and 364th among all institutions, according to the report.

MSU Denver’s Welcome Desk in the Student Success Building welcomed an award for customer service earlier this month. LiveHelpNow awarded the Welcome Desk’s chat function the Best Customer Service during the month of December, based on the company’s metrics. It was one of 10,000 companies considered for the honor.
