Need technology help? Contact a desktop support liaison

Program covers everything from troubleshooting to one-on-one assistance.

ITS liaisonsMSU Denver’s Desktop Support Liaisons provide a personal connection between ITS and academic and administrative departments.

If a department has a project that involves technology, a liaison will work to ensure that all technology related needs are met. All liaisons are trained and experienced in troubleshooting computer-related problems, so if there’s an issue that the ITS Helpdesk is not able to resolve remotely, a liaison will visit offices to provide one-on-one assistance.

“We see the liaison program as unique, offering technically skilled professionals who also carry a consultative ability,” said Lee Taylor, who oversees the liaisons. “Their goal is to empower and educate the campus community, assisting departments and individuals to achieve their goals by leveraging the tech tools available to them.”

The liaisons also work with University departments, other liaisons and ITS staff members to share ideas about improvements, efficiencies and new technology tools.

MSU Denver’s Desktop Support Liaisons are: Lee Crawford, Crystal Ball, P.J. Cheng, Anna Liisa Breit and Steve Patterson.

“The departments that have had the opportunity to meet and work with the liaisons find them to be a valuable resource for technology questions and concerns,” Taylor said. “I think every department should find time to meet with a liaison to understand the role and how they can help.”

To connect with a liaison, call the Helpdesk at 303-352-7548 or submit a ticket.

The Desktop Support Liaison program began in 2013 as a pilot project with one liaison who supported all departments in the Student Success Building. Within six months, the program was deemed a success and has grown to a team of five liaisons who support the entire MSU Denver campus community.
