Do you know a person dedicated to peace, justice and compassion for all people through community activism? A service leader committed to promoting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision for civil rights and social change?
Please nominate them for a 2018 MLK Peace Award. (Nominations are due Nov. 10.) MSU Denver students, faculty/staff and Denver residents are eligible for nomination, and awards are granted based on community activism, advocacy and depth of involvement.
For 26 years, the campus community has come together in January to celebrate the life, legacy and ideals of King at our annual Peace Breakfast. The highlight of the gathering is an awards ceremony that acknowledges and celebrates individuals who keep King’s spirit and dream alive through their contributions to peace, justice, diversity, equality and social change. The 2018 breakfast will mark the 50th year since King’s assassination and will be addressed in our theme “Civility: Respect, Engage and Unite.”
