Clayton DaughtreyClayton Daughtrey, Ed. D., is slated to become the interim department chair for the new School of Hospitality, Events and Tourism (HEaT). If Daughtrey’s name sounds familiar, it might be because he has worked for MSU Denver’s College of Business for many years, first as department chair of Marketing for eight years and now as its associate dean.

Daughtrey has accepted a one-year appointment as department chair wherein he will be “holding down the fort” until a permanent dean is hired.

Of his new, albeit temporary position, Daughtrey says: “I am excited to work with the faculty of the Hospitality, Tourism and Events Department as we transition to the School of HEaT. The department’s faculty members are a great group of professors that have developed some of the most innovative and entrepreneurial programs in the nation. I am just happy to be a part of it for the next year.”

The School of HEaT is scheduled to open in August 2018.
