MSU Denver has a top university sales program
The Sales Education Foundation has named MSU Denver a “Top University for Professional Sales Education,” in 2017.
The foundation supports university-level sales education programs by providing scholarships and research grants. It also helps raise public awareness about the benefits of a sales career through its “Annual” magazine.

Ananda Paudel elected to ASEE Board of Directors
MSU Denver’s Ananda Paudel, Ph.D., assistant professor of mechanical engineering technology, was elected chair, Council of Sections, Zone IV, of the American Society for Engineering Education.
The ASEE membership elected seven officers, including Paudel, to its board of directors in April. The board members will begin their terms at the society’s annual conference in June in Columbus.
Paudel teaches courses in manufacturing processes, statistical process control, computer-aided manufacturing, and advanced energy technologies, among others. He served as ASEE Rocky Mountain Section chair from 2013 to 2014.
MSU Denver Physics founded a new chapter of Sigma Pi Sigma - the physics honor society.
On April 30, the University’s Physics Department and the Physics Department from CU Denver founded a new chapter of Sigma Pi Sigma, the physics honor society, with an "installation and induction" ceremony. Founding chapter members inducted eight MSU Denver physics students into the society, and CU Denver inducted an additional nine physics students.
City and County of Denver recognizes MSU Denver VITA students
University Volunteer Income Tax Assistance students were recognized and thanked for their service by the Denver City Council on April 24, 2017, through a proclamation read at the beginning of the council meeting. The motion to issue the proclamation was passed unanimously.
VITA students offered free tax-preparation services this spring to anyone earning less than $54,000 in 2016. MSU Denver has been a supporter of the IRS-sponsored VITA program for more than three decades, helping Denver area lower-income individuals and families with their tax returns.
The students who participated were in Accounting Affiliate Professor Robert Persichitte’s VITA course. The proclamation was sponsored by the following city council members: Albus Brooks, Wayne New, Stacie Gilmore, Debbie Ortega, Rafael Espinoza, Kendra Black and Paul López.
