Faculty: Here’s how you can help students

Visit a Student Success Forum April 25-26.

April 24, 2017

Faculty members are encouraged to visit a Student Success Forum, which will take place on the second floor of the Student Success Building on April 25 and 26 (11 a.m.-1 p.m.)

The topics under discussion will include the value of the Early Alert program, the many programs that exist to support struggling or under-represented groups, and advice on supporting transfer students.

So why this event, and why now?

“In the past, some faculty members have told us they aren’t sure what they can be doing to retain students,” said Mark Potter, associate vice president for undergraduate studies.

“So this event is custom-designed to rectify that. Over four short sessions, our faculty members can get targeted advice that will equip them to offer the best possible advice and support to their students. It’s also a valuable opportunity for them to talk about their current efforts in this area and share their own experiences, which would really help us.”

Undergraduate Studies is sponsoring the event. (And not that it should influence your decision to attend, but there have been rumors of free pizza.)
