Participate in Spring 2017 Commencement as a marshal

The Commencement Committee invites you to help create a memorable graduation ceremony for students by volunteering as a marshal.

The Spring 2017 Commencement ceremonies are fast approaching and we need your assistance in creating a memorable graduation ceremony for our candidates. Because many of you have instructed, advised and mentored students on their education and life paths, the Commencement Committee would like to invite you to participate in commencement as a marshal this spring.

Marshals are the heart of the ceremony! The ceremony would not be successful without the assistance of our faculty and staff. Our students want to celebrate with you as they complete one journey and begin another.

Please sign up to volunteer and submit your regalia rental form by Friday, March 31, 2017, at 5 p.m.

To volunteer as a marshal, please email the Events Team at commencement@msudenver.edu by Friday, March 31, 2017, with the following details:

1. Name and Title (ex. M.A., Ph.D.)
   (as you would like it to appear in the program)
2. Department
3. Preference of all day or specific ceremony
4. Preference of marshal position
   (we will do our best to assign within preferences)

We are asking all NEW marshals to attend a 60-minute marshal orientation to learn about commencement; snacks will be provided. Please check your email for upcoming marshal orientation dates.

2:30 p.m. – Ceremony B
College of Business

Friday, May 12

6-7 a.m. – Complimentary hot breakfast
7 a.m. – Check-In for Ceremony A
7:15-7:50 a.m. – Mandatory Rehearsal
7:50-8 a.m. – Marshals to positions
8-8:45 a.m. – Student Assembly A
9-10:30 a.m. – Ceremony A

11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – Complimentary Lunch

12:30 p.m. – Check-In for Ceremony B
12:45-1:20 p.m. – Mandatory Rehearsal
1:20-1:30 p.m. – Marshals to positions
1:30 p.m. – Student Assembly B
2:30-4 p.m. – Ceremony B
