Over the next few weeks you might notice boxes popping up around campus departments – 24 of them throughout 10 buildings, to be precise.
Hygiene products, school supplies and non-perishable food can be dropped off in the collection boxes until March 10. Contributions benefit the Student Academic Success Center and the Fostering Success Program.
The donation drive is the first initiative by Roadrunners United in Service, a cross-campus service group started by Erica Buckland, Academic and Student Affairs; Ryan Campbell, Civic Engagement Program; Damen Glover, Facilities Planning; and Gini Mennenga, Alumni Relations and Giving.
“Our plan is to bring together the various donation drives, events and other action-oriented projects across campus to create a larger impact. This helps build more meaningful opportunities to give back,” said Mennenga.
The group will support two different programs each semester, with larger projects planned for the future. The group members’ next project will launch March 13.
Please email them for more information on getting involved and to submit ideas for future drives.
