The Hotel and Hospitality Learning Center has already had a significant impact on student learning. Now the public-private partnership that made the facility possible is yielding even greater benefits.
The board of directors for HLC@Metro Inc., the nonprofit corporation which owns the hotel, unanimously authorized the transfer of $2 million from its net profit reserves to the MSU Denver Foundation.
This transfer, in accordance with the original memorandum of understanding, demonstrates the value of MSU Denver’s first public-private partnership, a collaboration between the University, its foundation, Sage Hospitality and its partner, Marriott International.
As planned from the outset, half of the funds will be used to support scholarships for students across the University.
